The Biblical Journey of Spiritual Growth

The turn of events in our lives today is on everyone’s mind.  The opinions of many of us are saturated with questions, doubts and maybe even fears about the days ahead.  It is confusing for many, but should be clearer to all of us, as to how we see the current events in our individual lives .These issues and much more, have left us in a possible catatonic state of disbelief, mute to understand how all these changes in our everyday lives have occurred in a short time and have such an extraordinary effect on us.  Many of these changes are good ones, for our futures, our country, and most of all, ” Our Faith Values”!

The Bible points out many examples of how actions, based upon politics, have been shaped by the ancient world in the old and new testaments over and over.  The same subjects have carried through history for many centuries.  We are faced with many of the same issues today as then, with the previous pandemics, finding enough staffs for jobs, high prices of goods, absorbing of groups, businesses and even countries, ethics and policy changes, division of ideologies, and there are many more that exist then as now. How many of us, including congregations, pastors, elders, leaders of every church and all believers, have really compared every issue of today with those of every issue consistent with God’s Word in the Bible?!

We have, from possibly the worst of times and corruption, through the perhaps the better of times, in a very short period of months, that may change our future way of life for all of us. This type of possible ideology of the realization that many things may never be the same, may create struggles and better times in our daily lives! It’s also possible that many of these same issues could cause changes in our Christian behavior and character!

Do you ask hard questions about your faith and daily issues or do you possibly deny or dismiss your questions, doubts. and fears?  When you feel the pain of illness, disappointment, changes in character, a possible breach of trust and the possibility of change in your lives, do you express it through prayer, or do you ‘slap on a smile and pretend it doesn’t exist’? Please understand, that God wants to hear your praise, but also, and very importantly, wants to also hear your worst fears, doubts, hurts and what is really on your heart. He wants you to bring your feelings to Him! When you’re faced with any issues beyond your understanding, the right answer is always found in His Word and in communication with Him!

Most of us start each day wanting to follow what we have learned and to please Him by living with the principals of our Christian behavior and values.  But please know that we will all fall short of our goals!  We live with many frustrations in our daily lives, but one of them is knowing that trying to stay on the ‘narrow path’ and walk in His footsteps.  It may seem almost impossible with all the distractions and temptations we may have to be burdened with, by the fact we are only human. He wants us to come to Him with everything in our lives, especially in prayer.

We need to realize that there are times that life takes sudden turns!  During our sometimes proud and self-sustaining lives, even as believers, we may find times that we ourselves are desperately dependent.  We are often very conditioned by our denominational backgrounds and traditions that we may miss the point of God’s Grace. There is a great difference between being a proclaimed a Christian, being religious, and being a person who lives by ‘Faith’!  There are many that attend church for an hour on Sunday, take time to read the scripture, attend classes, but somehow miss the opportunity to come to Him in prayer about everything in their lives, good and not so good, and learn to live by Faith, knowing that God is in control!  Think carefully about iI, we all have the privilege to actually speak to Him, a direct line to the Man Himself….the King of Kings…. Almighty God…through His son Jesus Christ!

Faith is knowing God is always in control and then knowing that communicating with Him in prayer will make everything work out right! TRUSTING Jesus is sometimes very hard, but really necessary for all of us!

It is by His Grace we are saved……by His Word we to live ….and by His Will we try to serve others…!
