Being A Christian Father
"A Christian father is so very special ……he works hard every day,
To always find ways to teach his kids something. and show them how to pray…
He has a patient, compassionate ear and a word of sound advice,
and puts family needs before his own, though it may be a sacrifice.
He knows when to admonish, yet knows how to forgive,
and points his kids to the Gospel as a guide by which to live!
And he shows them the true meaning of the words ……’Faith, Hope and Love’!
You’ll know a Christian father, for his kids are all so glad,
To have him for a father…….and are very proud to call him "DAD”!”

As a Christian Father, whether on ‘Father’s Day’ or any day, you will be a much-
watched example of a ‘character builder, leader and looked upon individual
with and of respect’, not only in your own home but as an example to others
around you! You may be considered as a possible ‘yardstick’ to be measured by
for others around you and considered a potential success to others becoming a
great Dad also!
Never take adverse chances with these living and growing extensions of yourself
by looking back and thinking that "I took my kids to school activities and on
vacation. but not to church” or "I went to all their sports activities, but never
made sure that they went to Sunday School at church, summer time Christian
Youth Camps or on Missions to help others”! You may have watched them
drink what they shouldn’t have…..but not a drink of "the Living Water of God’s
Word”, which could change the course of their entire lives! You may think back
and think that "you gave them the keys to the car but not the keys to God’s
Kingdom”!
All Dads can be "Leaders by Godly Example’! The Apostle Paul spoke of
following the example of a Christlike life in 1 st Corinthians:13, expressing that of
all things……"Love is the most important”! The love of our children is a
paramount value in our lives, and in their futures!
There are many of us who have memories in our lives of things we may have
done and regret, bad choices we have made and wrong directions we have
taken. As such, we don’t want our children doing anything wrong if we can help
it! But remember, there are many, many things we have done and
accomplished that are good and some are truly Great! There are many things
we can provide that are a safe and supportive environment where our kids can
feel free to express themselves and learn from their own life experiences. We
can always engage them, hopefully, in mature active listening, and speak words
of affirmation and encouragement, aligning your words with the uplifting words
of scripture!
We have what it takes for our kids and many others as well to model! We must
know, that as ‘seasoned Dads and Granddads’, that we know where many of the
mistakes were made along the journey of life and how to teach our kids just
how to avoid them. We can make and encourage ‘course corrections’ based
upon our own experiences corrected by the rules and words of the Gospel.
The most important of these is ‘loving God and loving others’, as we should love
ourselves’. We also must demonstrate positive works and values to ours and to
kids all around us. When our faith values are grounded in Christlike values, we
have the very best opportunity to raise and reach our kids and grandkids and
guide them on to productive and successful lives!

great memories for your children, grandchildren and the celebration of Christ’s
love and family values!
It is by His Grace we are saved….by His Word we should always live….and by His
Will, we serve others...!
