A Christian Father is so very special, and he works hard every day,
to always find ways to teach his kids something, and show them how to pray,
He has a patient, compassionate ear and a word of sound advice,
and puts family needs before his own, though it may be a sacrifice.
He knows when to admonish, yet he knows how to also forgive,
And points his children to the Gospel, as a guide by which to live,
And shows them the true meaning of the words…’Faith, Hope and Love!
You’ll know a Christian Farther, for his children are all so glad,
To have him for a "Father”……and very proud….. to call him "DAD”!

As a Christian Father, whether on Father’s Day or any day, you will be the much-watched example of a character builder, leader, and a looked upon individual of respect, not only in your own home, but as an example to others around you. You will be a possible ‘yardstick’ to measure their potential successes as a great Dad. Never take adverse chances with these living and growing extensions of yourself by looking back and thinking, "I took my kids to school activities and on vacations, but not to church” or "I went to all their sports activities but never made sure they went to Sunday School, Youth Camps or on Missions”, and "I watched them drink what they shouldn’t have…..but not of the Living Water”, …… that message to them could change the entire course of their lives! …..”I gave them the keys to the car, but didn’t give them the keys to the Kingdom of God”!
All Dad’s need to be ‘Leaders by Godly Example’! The Apostle Paul spoke of in I Corinthians 11:1 to ‘follow the example of a Christlike life’, but let’s realize that’s not always possible and know that Paul wasn’t perfect and neither are we!
There are many of us who have memories in our lives of things we have done and regret that we don’t want our kids doing! But we have also done some good things that we want our kids to model. We most certainly realize as seasoned Dads and Granddads, where many of the mistakes were along our journey through life. We can make and encourage course corrections based upon our experiences corrected by the rules of Scripture.
The most important of these is "loving God and loving others” and demonstrating positive works and values to them. When our faith values are grounded in Christ, we have the best opportunity to raise and reach our kids and grandkids and guide them on to productive and successful lives!
Wishing every Father, Granddad and Dad….a wonderful day! Full of great memories with your children, grandchildren and families, celebrations of family values, reunions, reconciliations, and most of all……LOVE..!
It is by HIS Grace we are saved…by HIS Word we should live,,, and by HIS Will we serve others…
